Design By Wire operates as a focused technical studio: clear ownership, practical field knowledge, and the right collaborators assembled around each engagement.
Our approach is grounded in precision and adaptability. We are selective by design — we take on work we believe in, with people we trust, where we know we can deliver at the highest level. Not to limit opportunity, but to protect the quality of the work and the experience we create around it.
Design By Wire is built around experienced technical direction, practical field knowledge, and a flexible network of trusted collaborators — giving each engagement the right expertise and attention through a focused and practical approach.
Each engagement is supported by the right mix of people, including our team of trusted specialists, designers, and programmers, along with creative collaborators assembled to match the scope, scale, and needs of the work — bringing varied perspectives to complex technical challenges.
At SeaWorld Orlando, he served as Lighting Designer & Technical Director — a role spanning both craft and leadership. He led the parkwide audio infrastructure design and install, show control systems, and attraction refurbishments, all while overseeing technical coordination across the park's entertainment operations. The environment required both precise systems thinking and the ability to lead projects under real operational pressure while staying budget conscious.
He later joined Disney Live Entertainment as a Video Systems Designer, focusing on video systems design for large-scale and immersive environments across the globe. There, he developed systems for projection mapping, broadcast infrastructure, and new land development. While at Disney Live Entertainment, the Walt Disney World Resort celebrated their 50th Anniversary where Grant was the lead designer on all video design efforts across the four-park resort during this three year project design – including the addition of projection mapping to Main Street USA at Magic Kingdom, something that required careful budget management, operational partnerships, and development of new industry standard systems with some of the top manufacturers in the world.
Grant has since founded Design By Wire to bring that combined experience — design, programming, project management, and technical leadership — to a broader range of clients, including cruise ship builds, theme park integration, houses of worship, and educational facilities.
His background spans the full technical lifecycle. That depth is the foundation Design By Wire is built on.
Tyler joined Walt Disney World in 2014 and spent the next decade advancing through increasingly complex technical and design roles. At Disney Live Entertainment, he contributed to large-scale theatrical productions, new land developments, and immersive environments — spanning large-format projection mapping, media server architecture, and show-integrated video systems developed with Walt Disney Imagineering.
As Manager of Video Systems Design for Disney Signature Experiences, he led the design team across the Disney Cruise Line portfolio — supporting the active fleet while directing system design for new vessel construction across multi-year, international builds. This culminated in the concept and design of the world's first projection-mapped cruise ship performed while underway, made possible through the teams he built and the industry partnerships he cultivated.
What defines Tyler's work is his ability to lead at the intersection of people, systems, and scale — building teams across the globe while developing the partnerships required to deliver complex, high-stakes projects.
His approach now shapes Design By Wire, where projects are chosen with intent, partnerships are built on trust, teams are led with care and clarity, and execution is held to the highest standard.
